Lea Heinrich, was born in Duderstadt, Germany in 1984. At the age of five she won a drawing contest at the local bakery. The prize was fifty bucks worth of cake. She and her friends spend it all in one day. Later she studied at the School of Art and Design in Kassel and specialized in illustration and graphic storytelling. Since her graduation in 2012 she works as a freelance illustrator and comic artist in Berlin and NYC. 

In the winter semester of 2016/17 and the summer semester of 2017 Lea Heinrich is also giving a comics and illustration seminar at the School of Arts and Design in Kassel, Germany.
